Most importantly, Abandoned In Sleep remains completely accessible, sophisticated without the pointless meanderings of so many ambient & drone works---these are songs that actually go somewhere, say something & end somewhere far ahead of their starting points, having mastered the compositional necessities that turn random collections of noise into full masterworks with meaning & purpose: these are ambient songs, not simply experiments in sound for sound’s sake, and in this crucial differentiation from the norm, Anduin’s Abandoned In Sleep stands above the rest as an exceptional work of accessible yet uncompromising artistic brilliance.
