MENTAL REMEDY "THE SUN, THE MOON, OUR SOULS"

Once upon a time, the ancients had a way of telling time far removed from the rigid and arbitrary regulations of productive societies. Sun-clocks, astrological calendars and the use of the Earth’s rotation around the Sun to measure time preceded the possibility of social organization, structure and economy. Interestingly, the introduction of more and more finely-tuned and infinitesimally accurate time-pieces---the chief regulation of a society increasingly enveloped by the obsessively finite organization of commodity-time---did not become widely used until the mid-late 15th Century, well after all vestiges of “pagan” religion had been violently stamped out by the consolidated power of monotheistic politico-religious entities of Europe and Northern Africa. Sadly, the “true way,” the way of the ancient sages and wisemen of the pure world, appears more alien than the far-less natural forms of time-measurement whose precision spells doom for the individual encaged in its demarcations. The alignment of time, soul and body must begin with a refutation of commodity-time and its chief enforcer, the mechanical clock, and end with the biological harmony of freely dispersed movement, a process that will alter perception of physical space, especially within the city, where the demolition of delineated time and its stranglehold on human creativity will, if assaulted or ignored at the appropriate moment, reshape the very ability to travel through physical as well as spiritual space.
